Voice Enabled SAP

topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP is a special variant of our well-established “pick by voice” system topSPEECH-Lydia® to be used directly with SAP systems (without middleware).

Integration into SAP

topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP is fully integrated into the "multimodal" concept of SAP. "Multimodal" means that the data input can be done by keyboard, touch-screen, scanner, RF-ID-reader and even speech. In the same way it is possible to see or listen to the data output. For the realization of this concept, SAP has established certain regulations which are entirely met by topSPEECH-Lydia®. It is only necessary to install the WebSAPConsole for the SAP system, to adapt the screens to the format of the PDA and to install topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP on the PDA. The speech application is completely programmed in the SAP programming environment, i.e. with ABAP.

This is why a speech-recognition based solution with topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP is very easy to apply in all fields of the SAP modules – of course, in particular in the picking process in warehouses.

Programming time

Our projects have shown that SAP-experienced programmers become familiar with a speech application based on topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP in a very short time and soon can generate productive applications.

Flexible data input 100 % online/realtime

Due to the middleware-free integration of topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP into the multimodal concept of SAP, the voice input into an input field looks like a data input by keyboard: one can say that topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP works as a "microphone" to SAP. The following data processing is done in the same way as after a data input by keyboard or scanner: i.e. in SAP. Thus, of course, each speech-based processing is 100% online/realtime. This is why especially the realtime requirements in LES or in TRM can be met with speech integration without problems. At present, topSPEECH-Lydia® for SAP is the only solution world-wide making voice picking possible without middleware to SAP even with industrial background noise. Now the advantages of speech-based systems – quicker and more efficient data input, trouble-free work routine and a clear increase of productivity – can also be achieved with SAP warehousing systems.
